The microMount without spud is tyipcally used to connect two lengths of 15mm rod together usually used for building out rigs. A microSpud can always be added later
The microMount with no Spud is perfect for connecting 15mm rod parts together.
For attaching accessories like on-board monitor, microphone, light, etc. you will probably want to use a quick-release spud that comes with the microMount with Spud option (a different product bundle - check related items)
