The standalone M3 is the M3 cinema lens adapter only, with the option of adding a lens mount and video camera adapter ring.
This is typically for upgrades or customers who have existing equipment they wish to use with the M3.
The M3 cannot be used just by itself, and requires a support baseplate and rails, and a lens mount at a minimum.
The M3 Indie Bundle is a basic complete system for using the M3 with a video camera.
The Indie Bundle includes the iris rods and baseplate for supporting the M3/camera combination. A lens mount and camera adapter ring are optional add-ons.
